No-show protection (card on file)
When booking online, clients save their card and tick your rules. Nothing is charged. If someone doesn't show up or cancels too late, you charge the fee with one button: a percentage of the price or a fixed amount. Nothing is ever charged automatically. Only works if your clients pay online through Stripe.
Where to find it
How it works
- Switch on: Settings → Online → Online booking, at the bottom under No-show protection.
- Choose the fee (25, 50, 75 or 100% of the price, or a fixed amount), until how many hours before cancelling is free (2 hours to 3 days), and whether it applies to not showing up, late cancellation or both.
- Under This is what your client sees when booking is the sentence the client ticks; it's also in the confirmation email.
- Charging: mark the appointment No-show in the calendar (or it was cancelled too late), open it, tap Charge no-show fee (or Charge late cancellation fee) and confirm.
- If the card fails, the amount goes to Outstanding so you can send a payment link.
- You can only charge a fee once per appointment.
Good to know
- Team members need the permission “Business settings”. The owner sets this under Settings → Team → Roles and permissions.
Set this up first
If something doesn't work
I don't see No-show protection.
It's at the bottom of Settings → Online → Online booking, and only for people who may manage settings. If your salon is in a country where online payments go through a banking app (such as Aruba, Curaçao, Bonaire, Sint Maarten or Suriname), no card can be saved and it doesn't work. If your Stripe account isn't connected yet, it says you need to do that first under Payments.
The button to charge a no-show fee isn't there.
The button only shows when the appointment is marked No-show (or was cancelled within the free period), the client saved a card when booking, the protection is on for that case, and no fee has been charged yet. Appointments you add yourself in the calendar, or booked before it was switched on, have no card. You also need the Payments permission.
Request bookings don't ask for a card.
That's right: when you approve bookings first (Confirm appointments automatically off), no card is saved. Neither for bookings charged to a hotel room.

In NOZAIA, open Support at the bottom of the sidebar (on your phone: in the menu under your name). It knows which screen you're on, and if it can't help, your question goes to our team.
