Checking out in dollars or a second currency
On Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten tourists often pay in dollars, in Suriname also in dollars or euros. Next to your own currency you can set a second currency. Per service you then also enter the price in that currency (for example AWG 277 and USD 155), and at checkout you tap the currency the client pays in. Everything is recorded in your own currency, so your reports and tax add up; the receipt also shows what the client paid in dollars. The florin and the Caribbean guilder are fixed at 1.79 per dollar; NOZAIA fills in that rate itself.
Where to find it
How it works
- Settings → Tax: at Also check out in, choose the second currency, for example US dollar.
- With a fixed rate (florin, Caribbean guilder) it's already filled in; otherwise enter the rate, for example 1 USD = 36.5 SRD, and tap Save.
- After that every service (Settings → Sales → Services) has a Price in USD field; empty means converted at the rate.
- At Checkout, above the lines, there's Currency with your own currency and the second one; one tap shows every amount in that currency.
- A price you type then is in that currency.
- Paid in cash or with your own payment method: the receipt shows next to the payment method what the client paid in dollars.
- With Cash there's Client gives: type what the client gave or tap a note, choose whether it's dollars or your own currency, and the checkout tells you how much change to give, in both currencies.
- With the QR code (Sentoo) the client then also pays in dollars; NOZAIA records it in your own currency with the dollars noted.
- If that doesn't work, ask Sentoo whether dollars are enabled on your Sentoo account.
- The card reader stays in your own currency.
Good to know
- Team members need the permission “Business settings”. The owner sets this under Settings → Team → Roles and permissions.
If something doesn't work
I don't see Currency at checkout.
First set a second currency under Settings → Tax, at Also check out in, and tap Save. Then reload the checkout.

In NOZAIA, open Support at the bottom of the sidebar (on your phone: in the menu under your name). It knows which screen you're on, and if it can't help, your question goes to our team.
